11 Tips to keep from being Deactivated

These tips were posted on an Amazon Flex Facebook group by an Escalation Lead with Amazon Logistics. Truly great insight here and we wanted to share with you. New or veteran these 11 tips to keep from being deactivated from Amazon Flex are a must read. We’ve slightly edited it to define abbreviations and terms.

  1. If you damage someone’s property, hit and run is not only a shitty thing to do to an innocent homeowner but illegal as well. Own up to the damage, apologize, leave a note with contact info if customer isn’t home.
  2. Make sure the address is right. Calling support can actually prevent you from getting a DNR (Did not receive).
  3. The notes/feedback you leave for package location actually just go to a database no one sees. Customer can’t see it and TOC (Transportation Operations Center) can’t see it. Want us to share that info, call us.
  4. Take a look at the weather. If it says rain, leaving a package in the middle of the driveway, not in a weather bag can cause concessions which are just as bad as DNR.
  5. Don’t throw the packages. You don’t know what’s in there and if broken yep customer calls, complains, and nasty gram sent to you.
  6. Your customers have cameras, lots of cameras. They are recording too. Need I remind you of the mad pooper. Not just that but they catch theft, package tosses and property damage. Big brother is there and we do end up with the footage. Those cameras are well hidden and in multiple locations.
  7. Follow the customer’s delivery instructions. If you don’t yup it results in negative feedback against you.
  8. We know apartments aren’t fun but if a leasing office manager says hey we don’t take packages, leaving them in a pile at the door, unattended by a public mailbox, generally not a good idea. Take them to the customer’s door. Property managers all have complex maps for free! You can’t tell a property manager they have to take your package, some of them legally cannot house them. You don’t make the rules for delivery to the complex the manager does.
  9. Don’t cuss at, abuse or mistreat the people you deliver to.
  10. Speed limits in residential neighborhoods are there to prevent tragedies. Don’t go 60 in a school zone customers do report it to us and the cops. And on the same token don’t drive down a quiet neighborhood with your music so loud that people 4 streets over can hear you.
  11. Hygiene is important. We get reports of disheveled stinky people from our customers delivering packages. Also smelling like weed while delivering, smoking while delivering, or having dog with you while delivering food yep… bad feedback against you.

Any of the above behavior can cause a customer to request a de-prioritization of their address. This pushes logistics to low priority carrier which stops you from getting frequent blocks.
