Delivery to 1428 Elm Street – Night Deliveries to the Country Bumpkins

Do not enter, Private property, No Trespassing! Always fun signs to see when your making deliveries in the night to rural homes. Just kidding, it’s not very inviting and sometimes downright scary. Here’s a few tips to help you make those deliveries to Freddy Krueger’s house at night.

One two… coming for you. No just messing around. I have seen Flexers refer to some of their night deliveries as “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” or “The Hills have Eyes”. Really it’s not that bad with some experience. Night blocks can be a good way to make money because they often sit untouched. Here’s what you’ll need.

1) Confidence:
If you’re there, you belong there. That’s what I tell myself when I’m feeling doubt. It’s true. If you’re there working you belong there. So be confident. Only someone who doesn’t belong would act like they don’t.

2) Flashlight:
Self explanatory why you would need this one. At night you won’t be able to see addresses. A good headlamp will be your best friend.

3) Reflective Clothing:
High visibility gear is highly recommended. How many home intruders wear a high visibility vest? None that’s how many. Get yourself one. Country bumpkins are conditioned not to shoot at high vis because of all the hunting they do.

4) Vehicle Sign / Magnet:
Nothing puts a customer at ease like a good Amazon Flex car magnet. It lets homeowners immediately know your purpose on their property. It’ll also put you at ease which helps with #1 confidence.

5) No knocking or phone calls:
If it’s dark don’t knock. Don’t call. There are a few exceptions to this. Use your best judgement but as a general unwritten rule. Don’t knock or call at night. Sometime’s the app will tell you a delivery is “late” and to call. Don’t worry about this. Just deliver it as normal.

All in all there’s no reason to be afraid. Your doing a job. Look out for dogs. Maybe mace spray and a pocket knife should have made the list. Just in case, but don’t plan on using them. Go out there and have fun. Night blocks can be a ton of fun with the right attitude.

As always be safe. Flex on!
