Amazon’s Daily Stretch!

Did you know that Amazon warehouse and facility workers start each day out with a group stretch? Well it’s true. They also pick a person at random to lead the exercise. I was never fond of that part. Who wants to stand in front of a large group at 4am? Not me, but the stretching part was nice.

Should Flex drivers do daily stretching exercises? Absolutely yeah. We covered proper driving posture suggestions here and stretching will be super beneficial for a long drive. Now we’re no experts but smarty pants people have been studying the benefits of stretching for awhile. We did a little research and put together a list of stretches that are good specifically for long drives. Here’s a great article we used as resource covering the essentials.

Wrist stretches can be an easy one to forget about. Do like the image above or you can use the steering wheel as a support and do the stretches while stopped in the car.

Improper posture and long driving hours are going to cause some neck tension. Stretch it out, feels great.

You can use a doorway or wall to do all kinds of stretches.

Stretch those hips and glutes. Make this a routine and it get’s easier with time. Check out this guide Stretching 101 to ensure it’s done properly for the most benefits. Stretching is also good for stress and anxiety. I always try to do a routine before Flex’n. It’s a great warm up and gets the blood flowing. Nobody’s going to give us any work injury compensation. Stay nimble and get your stretch on!
