This time last year I was in Idaho training to become an over-the-road tractor trailer (semi) driver for Swift. Since i’m such a total introvert I have struggled through every kind of job you can think of. I’ve worked so many different types of positions and dreaded them. I thought truck driving would be good for me since they’re mostly alone doing their thing. But I couldn’t make it through the school. The truck driving part was a blast but the instructors there where not so great. So I left, came back to Portland, OR and started doing Uber.
Then I discovered Flex and FINALLY I thought, a gig that I enjoy doing. Set my own hours. Work mostly alone and get paid twice a week. I’ve never dreaded going in to work for Amazon Flex. I look forward to it! If I don’t want to work I don’t have too and the pay is pretty decent. Luckily I only have to support myself.
I’ve finally come to accept the fact I’m a total introvert. I like that about myself. Keeping steady work has been a struggle for me because of it though. I just can’t force myself to do something that makes me miserable. I’m so grateful for the opportunities Amazon Flex gives.
If you’re a total introvert and struggle with work because of it like I have, try Amazon Flex. If you’re worried or nervous about getting started, don’t be. You might just end up loving it. I hope this little article helps some soon-to-be introvert Flexer’s out there. Give it a shot and forget about those nerves!
Appreciate ya. Have a great day and be safe.
