Amazon Flex Delivery Types

With Amazon Flex there’s a few types of deliveries drivers can choose to do. Each has their pros and cons. Lets look into it.

Delivery Types:

  1. Prime Now – Here drivers will pick-up packages from their local facility. Blocks vary anywhere from 1-4 hours, sometimes more with high demand (holidays). Prime now orders are expected to be delivered within 1 to 2 hours. Being late on deliveries has a negative impact on the driver. Though this usually isn’t a concern if time is well managed. Prime Now is typically the highest paying out of all the blocks types as customers can tip the driver. Unlike Uber, Amazon customers seem more inclined to tip.
  2. Logistics – These deliveries involve picking up an average of 40 packages at the local warehouse. The blocks range anywhere from 1-5 hours. With 4 and 3.5 hours being the most common. Only large vehicles are eligible for anything past 4 hours on a logistics block. The packages are boxed parcels that are ordered from Amazon dot com. The pay starts out at $18 an hour and can surge all the way up to $25 with high demand. Tips are not included. Think UPS man but on a smaller scale.
  3. Amazon Restaurants –  Very similar to UberEats, Post-Mates, and other food courier services. Drivers will grab food from restaurants and deliver it to the customer. The app will provide all needed information such as pick-up and drop-off locations. The delivery window is typically 1 hour. Tip’s included.
  4. Amazon Fresh – Much like Instacart, Amazon Fresh involves the pick-up and delivery of groceries. Unlike Instacart the driver does not have to pick out all of the groceries. Amazon has staff in the stores to do that for them. Drivers will pick-up orders from the store provided by the app and deliver the goods. Delivery windows range from 1-2 hours. Tips included.

As mentioned Prime Now blocks are usually the highest paying. Due to that they’re the most in demand and hardest to get. Logistics blocks are the most physically demanding and are easier to get. With Instant Offers restaurant orders can be done anytime. Fresh is only available in select areas.
