WTF Wednesday – Warehouses

FC, Warehouse, Facility, Fulfillment Center, BAH!! What does it all mean man? and where are they located?

Lets find out.

Terms:

Amazon Flex drivers have lots of terms and abbreviations that can confuse the new people. An “FC” is the abbreviation for Fulfillment Center. A fulfillment center is not the same as a warehouse in Amazon Flex terms. A Facility or FC, as far as we’re concerned, refers to the location where you’ll be picking up Prime Now orders. An FC is similar to a warehouse but different in that it usually stores loose items and not boxes. Like the photo below:

Warehouse:

An Amazon Warehouse is where Amazon Flex drivers will be picking up Logistics (or .com) packages. The warehouse takes boxes. Truck loads of them. Sorts them and then assigns them to routes for Flex drivers to deliver (and other carriers such as White Vans).

Summary:

  • Fulfillment Center (FC) – Prime Now
  • Warehouse – Logistics
