Amazon Flex App Issues – Remedies

The Amazon Flex app is far from perfect. The built in navigation is notoriously bad and it’s plagued with other issues. Let’s discuss them and how to prepare for such problems before they arise on the job.

Not Scanning:

The app is either not scanning bar-codes or taking for too long to do so. This can be a real time waster. The first thing is to make sure the camera has sufficient lighting. Shadows can be a real killer when trying to scan packages. If possible, scan them while in the vehicle before making a run to the door.

Little things like this can be frustrating. Over the course of 40+ packages that time really adds up. If you’re having consistent problems with scanning packages, we recommend upgrading to a phone with a better camera. It’s a total game changer and will save lots of time and frustration.

Bad Navigation:

As mention the Amazon Flex routing is often inaccurate and almost never provides the fasted route. We recommend having a separate navigation app always open in the background. Google Maps and Waze are solid choices. We recommend Waze because it will give you other information such as speed traps, pot holes, and the like.

Offline Maps:

Be prepared and get yourself a good offline navigation app before going out on the job. For Android we use and recommend Offline Maps & Navigation. It’s simple to use and works very well. A must have for every Flex driver. Make sure to download the relevant maps before you head out on the road.

Other Issues:

For all other Amazon Flex app issues it’s always a safe bet to restart the app. If that fails you may need to restart the phone. Or as a last resort call the driver support @ 1-877-472-7562.

Hope this helps. Appreciate it. Flex on!
