Swipe to Accept Offers – The Drama

It’s funny. Anytime Amazon makes changes to the Flex app, drama among drivers ensues. The latest headline is that in many areas blocks are now swipe to accept. Rather than a simple click. This is assumed to be apart of the on going effort to, as Amazon puts it, “provide a better experience for drivers to view and accept offers”.

Good or Bad for Drivers?

So will swipe to accept be good or bad for drivers. It’s usually assumed by the more vocal drivers that whenever a change occurs it’ll be bad for drivers. That Amazon is incompetent, and that they know better. The truth is, none of us have any idea what Amazon is up to. Many drivers have reported being able to get more blocks now with the slowed refresh rate. Perhaps swipe to accept will be beneficial. Or not, it remains to be seen.

Will it stop cheaters?

Simple answer, no. If a cheater can code a bot to click, they can code it to swipe. However swipe to accept may stop many of the mechanical Flex bots. Psychical devices that tap as rapidly as possible on the app, may have trouble with swiping.

Is Amazon Incompetent?

Well… Maybe. They’re obviously highly successful. So give them a little credit. Do the coders behind the Amazon Flex app know what they’re doing? Who knows. Lets just go with the flow and see what happens.

The slowed refresh rate was frowned upon when it was first introduced. Then many drivers reported an improved experience in grabbing blocks. Maybe swipe to accept will help. Lets take a break for a moment and appreciate the fact that Amazon is taking steps to improve the app. We may not agree with their methods but at least they’re doing something.
