Not really a million. Some days it sure does feel like. Sorting through packages can take up a lot of time. Especially when you have a bunch of small envelope packages (Amazon calls them Jiffys). If only there was some way to differentiated them. Making sorting easier.
I got it! Said some developer at Amazon. Let’s put the size of the package in the Flex app so that drivers know what to look for. He excitedly ran off to tell Jeff Bezos. True story.
As you can see. On this stop I have one Small package. I have about 40 packages in my car total. Because I took the time to load my vehicle in a logical way. See this article for more on that. I have a general idea of where to look for this alleged Small package. It should be in my front seat somewhere.
Here it is. My small package. Since I knew the size beforehand. I totally ignored all those big packages in my backseat. Wow, thanks Amazon!
My next stop. A Medium package. Is it going to be an envelope or a box? Lets find out shall we.
If you said envelope you win! Congratulations. Confusingly, a medium package can be an envelope. This one was significantly bulkier than the small one.
Next up. An Extra Large package. EFF you envelopes. I’m not even looking at you this time. I HAVE NO ENVELOPES. You’re dead to me.
Found it! This here is an Extra Large package by Amazon standards. Kind of disappointed. I guess Amazon is a grower and not a shower.
Having the package size listed for each stop really helped with efficiency. It’ll take some practice to know what to look for. Sometimes what Amazon considers a large package really isn’t all that big. Amazon, ya silly goofs. Next time your out there delivering smiles, look for that package size, might save you some time.
Be safe, Flex on!
