Dope or Nope? – Amazon $10,000 Delivery Partner Offer

Start a fleet of 20 to 40 Amazon branded vans for only an initial investment of $10,000. Flip that to 300k in you’re first year. Sounds dope, but it might be a definite nope.

Partnering with Amazon has it’s perks. As Flex drivers we’re already doing that, and we know the cons. Owners who take this offer will know for certain they have delivery volume from Amazon. They’re offering training and discounts on vans, insurance, and more as part of a “suite of assets and services”.

While Amazon estimates that owners can make up to $300k profit a year. There’s absolutely no guarantee that they will. The owner is responsible for all the employee management, training, scheduling, pay, etc. This is an extraordinary amount of work and Amazon has proven to be not so lenient with mistakes.

Hypocritical:

Amazon requires delivery companies to hire their driver’s as employees, rather than independent contractors. Yet they run the Amazon Flex program with the latter. Why won’t Amazon let delivery companies run their business as they see fit?

A Fool and Their Money:

The offer from Amazon has it’s perks. It might be the best deal around right now when it comes to getting into the logistics game. For those that have experience it might be worth it. $10,000 may be too low of an entry barrier. Any non-experienced fool can come up with that. Especially with promises of $300,000 profit. The reality? Many of these companies that partner with Amazon on this offer are going to crash… Hard! We wish them the best of luck. The ones that make it are looking at 24/7 management of drivers. It’s an absolute nope for us.
