Know the rules and follow them
New drivers make sure that you are aware of the rules of you’re local warehouse. Each one is a little different. So we can’t list them here. Be sure to ask a warehouse employee, preferably one wearing a blue vest, what the rules are.
Recently a driver was sent a warning email about failure to comply with warehouse rules. This can lead to eventual termination. Warehouses have rules to ensure safety, be sure to take them seriously.

Here are a few rules to expect at an Amazon Warehouse:
- Wear reflective vest when not in the vehicle:
- If you don’t have one, ask a warehouse employee
- Keep flashers on when car is running
- Roll down a window at least halfway:
- You need a window down so that you can hear warehouse employee directions if they’re given to you
- Turn car off when parked:
- Do not leave your vehicle running at idle when loading it with packages. The exhaust is bad for everyone, and many stations have carbon alarms.
- Turn off flashers when loading:
- So that the car battery doesn’t die.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the same warehouse employees telling the same people the same things over and over. Don’t be that guy. Know the rules. Follow the rules. Flex on!
