Amazon Prime Day is about to take place in two days. Running from the 15th to the 16th Prime members will be anticipating deep discounts on products and they’ll likely be ordering more than usual. Good news for us Flex drivers! An increase in shopping means an increase in demand for drivers, which means increased block rates! However, if you’re planning to maximize your earnings this Prime Day then you’re going to need to show restraint.
Patience Young Padawan
Many Flex drivers have been expressing frustration over the fact that new drivers typically accept blocks at the base rate, either through ignorance or an over eagerness. What new drivers may not realize is that good things come to those who wait.
Seasoned drivers know when to wait for the surge, and Prime Day is the prime time to wait it out. If you’re accepting routes at the base rate during high driver demand, you’re likely getting paid less then all those other drivers waiting in line next to you. By simply waiting for the surge you could be making $30 an hour or even more. Show restraint this Prime Day season to maximize your earnings.
Don’t Be Fooled
Amazon will likely be dropping many routes early, making it seem as if they won’t surge. Many new driver’s will be grabbing these up, but we’ll forgive them for they do not know. Nice try Jeff! We won’t be falling for it this year. Don’t let yourself be fooled or tempted by Amazon trickery, be strong and wait for the surge.
Appreciate it, be safe and flex on!
