It’s widely accepted among gig workers that Amazon Flex is the best platform out there. It’s one of the best paying and most consistent gig work platforms you can find. You don’t have to drive people around and put yourself in danger like Uber and Lyft drivers do. With a really hard hustle it can be full time work for some people. Amazon Flex is FAR from perfect however and I hardly think that it will stay the best gig platform for very long. It’s only a matter of time before something better comes along. We hope that 2021 will be the year that it happens. We keep a close eye on obscure and not so well known gig work platforms so we can share them with you here. One of them may eventually change the game.

Passive income is the best. The kind of work where you don’t have to do much but still get paid.
Neighbor – peer-to-peer self storage:
If you’ve got extra space or happen to own a vacant property Neighbor connects you with other people looking to store their belongings. This seems like an easy passive income opportunity if you have the extra space. https://www.neighbor.com/
Spare5 – help train an AI:
This is one of those online work apps where you get paid very little for doing task. Except with Spare 5 you’re helping to train an artificial intelligence for it’s inevitable world domination. https://app.spare5.com/
Delivery
Spark – The Walmart Hustle:
Spark is the Walmart version of InstaCart, except that you don’t have to go and pick all the groceries yourself. Sort of like a hybrid between InstaCart and Prime Now deliveries. This one has the potential to get better over time since Walmart is a big company. It may be a good idea to sign up now before drivers start flocking to it. https://www.drive4spark.com/
Shopping
Shipt – The Target Hustle:
Like InstaCart but it’s owned by Target. https://www.shipt.com/be-a-shopper/
Keep an Eye On
Fat Llama (UK only):
This is one of those platforms where you can rent out your stuff to strangers. Say you’ve got a nice set of tools sitting around. You can list it on Fat Llama and then people can rent it. This is only available in the UK right now but it may be worth keeping an eye on for when/if they expand to the US. https://fatllama.com/
