How to Report Working Past the Block Time in the Amazon Flex app

So you had a bad block and ended up working past the scheduled block time? No worries, it happens to the best of us. As Independent contractors we deserved to be compensated for that extra time. However, you don’t want to be the “boy who cried wolf”.

Often times we may go 10 to 15 minutes over. In these cases I don’t recommend that you ask to be compensated. If you stopped for a 30 minute lunch break, took a nap at the beach, and dilly-dallied around then obviously don’t ask for compensation in these cases.

However, if you feel that you received a block that could not be reasonably completed in the allotted time, then by all means ask for compensation.

How To

  1. Go to the Earnings tab in the Amazon Flex app
  2. Find and select the block that you had an issue with
  3. Tap “Report a problem”
  4. Choose the email option

Then you’ll have a provided template to fill out.

In the “describe your question or concern here:” section I usually just ask them to investigate the block for me. Tell them that the allotted time to complete the block was unreasonable and add any other specific details.

Conclusion

Do ask compensation when you feel it’s deserved but don’t over do it.

Also, don’t feel the need to write a long detailed story in the emails to Amazon support. Simply ask them to investigate the block and tell them that it was unreasonable to complete in the allotted time. If that’s an honest statement then you shouldn’t have any issues getting compensated.

Appreciate it!
