You ever see those “Smile you’re on Camera” signs? I don’t like those signs. They seem so sarcastic. I don’t want to be on camera, I ain’t smiling! What is this, the Truman Show? Most people now a days have house cameras. Amazon has said it themselves, most of the customers we deliver to have cameras. Say cheese! With that in mind, here’s a few things you should avoid doing while on deliveries.
- No throwing packages! Not even a little. Don’t drop it either. This seems like common sense but delivery people are constantly doing it. Whenever it happens on camera it inevitably gets posted to the internet. Making us all look bad. Look… I know after delivering 1 billion packages you might not care about the contents anymore, but the customer does. No throwing, dropping, or otherwise careless handling of the packages.
- No walking in the grass. I know it’s tempting. Some people are CRAZY LOCO about their yards. If you walk in the grass they might flip their shit. Remember you’re on camera. Even if it seems like nobody’s home, stay off the lawn! If there’s no other access to the door then yeah, do what you gotta do.
- Knock or ring that bell. Customers expect this. You don’t have to stick around for them to answer. Always knock or ring the bell. A lot of people have “knock knock” or doorbell cameras. If you ain’t knocking or ringing the camera isn’t activating. Only takes a an additional second or two, just do it.
- Act like you got some sense. Don’t pull up into the customers driveway at 45 MPH. Don’t pull up with music blaring (Im guilty of this some days). Don’t Crip walk your way to the door. Actually scratch that, if you can, do that. That’d be hilarious. Seriously though just use common sense. Treat the place even more respectably then you would your own house.
- Close the gate behind you. If you open a gate to get to the customers door, close it back. If a customers dog runs away and your on film being responsible for it. That might result in a bad day for you.
Got anything else to add? Drop it down in the comments. Thanks for stopping by and I hope your pockets are being lined with Jeff Bezos’ money. Peace! Have a great day! Flex on.
