Amazon Flex drivers are actually receiving FTC checks

In an epic win for the little guy the FTC vs. Amazon Flex determined that Amazon unlawfully withheld the tips from over 140,000 drivers between 2016 and 2019. During this two and a half year period Amazon was secretly pocketing drivers tips who delivered for Prime Now, Flesh, and Amazon Restaurants. After they became aware of the FTC’s investigation in 2019 they stopped the practice.

Drivers are now starting to receive their checks! One driver posting on Amazon Flex social media groups showing that they received a hefty sum:

Will you get a check?

If you worked Prime Now, Flesh, and Amazon Restaurants between 2016 and 2019 then the answer is likely YES. Most drivers are receiving their checks without needing to do anything. The FTC knows the addresses of those who are owed a refund based on a court order or government records. Some drivers are also receiving payment via PayPal. So all you need to do is sit back and wait for your check.

Kudos to the FTC

Finally the little guy takes a W and Amazon takes an L. Had the FTC not done their job or been corrupted as Amazon seemed to be drivers would have never gotten their returns and the fact that Amazon was stealing drivers tips would have just been another Flex driver conspiracy theory. Good on the FTC for doing their job and bringing justice to Amazon Flex drivers.

I hope that you receive a PHAT check. According to The Verge the highest payout going to a single driver is more than $28,000! Checks are expected to reach drivers before January 7th, 2022 so keep an eye out!

Appreciate it.

Be safe, Flex on, and keep a vigilant eye on those tips!
